What to know
A skin fade takes the sides down to skin, then blends upward into the hair above it. It gives the strongest contrast and the sharpest finished look.
A taper fade keeps the cleanup focused around the neckline, sideburns, and edges. It is usually softer, more natural, and easier to wear for school, work, and everyday maintenance.
Choose a skin fade if you like the sides very tight, want the haircut to look crisp right away, and do not mind getting cleaned up more often.
Choose a taper fade if you want the haircut to grow out cleaner, keep more natural fullness, or avoid making the whole side too short.
Both services work better with a reference photo. Show the barber the fade height, top length, beard shape, and neckline you want.
Faders Barber Studio in Largo books both skin fades and taper fades, plus beard trims, lineups, kids cuts, and men's haircuts.
