Fade Maintenance

How often should you get a fade?

The sharper the fade, the sooner you usually need a cleanup.

What to know

Skin fades usually look their sharpest for about one to two weeks because the skin-level contrast grows out quickly.

Taper fades can often go two to four weeks because the grow-out is softer around the neckline and sideburns.

If you get a lineup or beard trim, the edge work may need maintenance sooner than the top length. That is normal because edges show growth fast.

Your hair texture matters. Thick, dark, curly, or coarse hair can make new growth more visible, while softer tapers may hide growth longer.

If you have an event, photos, date night, school function, or work presentation, book closer to the date so the cut is fresh.

Ask your Faders barber what maintenance window fits your style so you are not guessing between visits.

Quick answer

Skin fades often need 1-2 week maintenance. Tapers may last 2-4 weeks. Events should be booked close to the date.
